Coolclasps keep popping up in different sports.

Of course they are great for hanging up bikes, etc. But surfing was one we hadn't thought of before. Considering I grew up surfing in Cape Town I should be chastised for it, but in my defence there aren't huge waves in London. I was down in Newquay a while ago and stayed in a lovely hotel nearby - the hotel was the Watergate Bay Hotel. www.watergatebay.co.uk

They have wonderfully affordable rooms in the Coach house - my room was not huge, and have a crummy bathroom I must admit but affordable and you have breakfast in the main area overlooking the beach - absolutely gorgeous and really good value. If you want space, rent a suite :-)

On the wall was a surfboard, beautiful old thing it was, hung up using some clear strap put through a carefully machined piece of aluminium. It looked amazing. Of course with coolclasps we cost something in the order of probably 5% of whatever that thing cost, so it won't look as good - but then with the coolclasp D attachment it struck me that the surfboard could have been hanging from two surreptitious nails just as easily, so maybe I am wrong...

Hang your bike

Hang your bike in those small hallways and outside, you can hang a bike from a single nail. Carry your bike - with all those bits, it can be hard to carry a bike in pieces - clip them all together, and sling it over your shoulder. Stack items using multiple coolclasps.

TIP: Don't hang your bike tyres up for long - they tend to warp and this can cause serious damage. Hanging tyres is only a temporary measure. But when they're filthy and you need to move them, coolclasps save your clothes from all that mud.

Coolclasp – so, what is it?

The thing about Coolclasps that amazes me is that there is always some new nuance to using them.

Our ISP got one the other day and he tells me that he salvaged an old baby high chair with it, clipping the bits together so that the chair still works. It sounds dodgey and I told him that but we agreed it's a lot better than the gaffer tape he had on there before.

I did something similar last month when my two year old managed to pull one of the wooden bits out of our banister upstairs. Its old and Victorian and replacing the whole thing would cost a fortune. So ta-da - one coolclasp clipped it to the ones either side and kept it intact and safe until I could find the time to reglue the broken bits.

And so it goes on. Everyone I know with young kids always has one million things hanging from their prams and this is perfect space for a coolclasp. My two year-olds new scooter is clipped happily to the buggy and no longer is it a mission to get him, his buggy, his scooter, nappy bag, coat, etc to the park.
